About the Walk

The Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk rallies thousands every October for a fun-filled celebration at the beach, where families and friends gather to walk from Manhattan Beach Pier to Hermosa Beach Pier and back in support of our children. Since 2009, the event has raised millions of dollars to support the Friendship Foundation and public education.

The Friendship Foundation assists children with special needs and their families through one-on-one peer mentoring and social recreational activities such as summer camps, outings, sporting events, and a variety of classes that include music, yoga, cooking, art, and drama.

Through donations, public education foundations are able to retain vital academic programs, maintain smaller classrooms, improve libraries, and upgrade school technology. The Walk also funds the Skechers Foundation’s national college scholarship program, which has awarded more than $3.1 million in scholarships to deserving students across the country since 2017.

Co-produced by the Skechers Foundation and the Friendship Foundation, the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk is supported by local and national media outlets, dozens of dedicated corporations, and passionate citizens throughout our community and beyond.
