This year, I'm excited to participate in my first ever the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk, an event that raises critical funds to support children with special needs, education, and our local communities.

My journey as an educator began in 2010 as a substitute teacher, while I was also playing professional basketball overseas. Since then, I've dedicated my career to special education serving as a teacher, school administrator, and now a district-level leader. Every step of my career has been driven by one purpose: ensuring that students with disabilities, no matter their challenges, have access to opportunities that help them thrive.

Outside of education, I've been honored to serve as a commissioner for the City of Hawthorne's Park & Recreation/Fine Arts Commission, as well as a board member for the Fairfield Family YMCA in Long Beach. Community service has always been at the heart of who I am, and the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk is a powerful extension of that commitment.
