As intervention teachers, Emma and I spend our days watching kids fall in love with books, find their confidence, and grow — and every one of them deserves that chance, no matter their ability. That's why we're lacing up for the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk!
This walk raises funds for public education, national college scholarships, and programs supporting children with special needs. Here's what makes it extra special- through the Torrance Education Foundation, 100% of every registration comes straight back to our classroom — and many are matched by corporate sponsors, by as much as 200%! That means your donation helps our classroom, Towers, TEF, and The Friendship Foundation!
Towers is proud to be the leading school in the South Bay for education foundation fundraising — we bring in more than some entire school districts! As Towers' Education Foundation Ambassador, this cause is close to my heart, and I'm so grateful for a community that shows up for our kids year after year.
The impact goes beyond our classroom, too. Over the years, walk donations have helped bring the Friendship Campus on 190th Street to life — a project we're proud to have supported. We look forward to an opening planned for 2028. It's incredible to watch something this big grow from thousands of small acts of generosity like yours.
Your gift will help us bring our dreams into fruition. We'd love to have an author come to read her book, lead some class activities, and then be able to hand an autographed book to each child. We currently have an offer from an author, but we need your help!
Would you consider helping us by registering today? Whether you're walking with us or walking in spirit, your $30 registration will bless our charitable cause- READING! And if you're local, come walk with us along the beach.
You might be tempted to hit the donate button on the start page, but please make sure you sign up as a walker instead. We won't receive any donations as this is a competition in our district based solely on walkers.
Thank you for helping us make a difference!
