My name is Dylan Wyse and I am a recent graduate of the Pathways program at UCLA. I have been involved with the Friendship Foundation in many ways since 2012 as a program participant, volunteer, ambassador, social media coordinator, and now a recreation leader.
The Friendship Foundation is very important to me because I have been lucky enough to meet many of my closest friends through their programs. Aside from meeting some of my best friends through the Friendship Club at Mira Costa High School, as a participant/staff member, I've gotten to meet many amazing people such as former Los Angeles Dodger Chris Taylor, through his CT3 Foundation's annual Polar Plunge, Cameron Dicker of the Los Angeles Chargers, with whom I've helped sell water at their training camps, as well as participating in programs such as their yearly summer camp, MBYB Basketball, Beach Camp through BeachSports, surfing with the Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation, playing tennis with the MCHS Girls Tennis team, playing soccer with the MCHS Girls Soccer team, and even playing volleyball with the USC Men's Volleyball team. Their program give neuordivergent individuals like me the chance to try new things, make friends and it has changed my life for the better.
I'll be walking in the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk to help make a difference by supporting inclusivity in our schools and our communities. I have been participating in the Skechers Walk for 10 years and I know that the work the Friendship Foundation does has positively changed not just my life, but the lives of many children and adults for nearly 20 years. Your support will help play a huge part in providing friendship and inclusion, as well as support critical education programs in our public schools.
I want to do as much as I can to help support education and people like myself who have special needs. I hope you will consider supporting my efforts by making a donation today. Together we can make a huge difference.
Thank you!
Dylan Wyse
